About The Event
Set beside the old harbour of Anstruther, the Scottish Fisheries Museum preserves the story of Scotland’s fishing communities within a network of historic buildings, cottages, workshops and galleries. Its cobbled courtyard has links to the fishing trade stretching back centuries, and the buildings themselves hold the memory of generations who lived and worked by the sea.
Since opening in 1969, the museum has gained a reputation for unexplained activity. Staff and visitors have reported heavy footsteps in empty rooms, unexplained temperature drops, the smell of pipe smoke, objects moving, and even the sighting of a dark figure within one of the museum’s boats. In the Fisherman’s Cottage, a pair of old boots is said to be connected to a run of strange activity that only stopped when they were returned to their place.
